Eiril Nås Høistad

Eiril Nås Høistad is a 29‑year‑old photojournalism student with a background in cultural project management. She explores themes of identity, community, and how these factors influence everyday life.

Eiril is particularly drawn to stories about people who live life on their own terms—those who carve their own paths, challenge expectations, or simply stay true to themselves. This spring she will be following a group of queer immigrants in Finland, photographing their new reality in what’s supposed to be one of the most queer friendly countries in the world. Is this new life everything they hoped it would be?

Originally a writer, Eiril wanted to learn photography to challenge herself and to learn storytelling in another format. She has completed internships at Aftenpostenand Harvest Magazine as part of her photojournalism studies.
